Entry Background/Description: Summer Celebration Days were Special Love's answer to the dilemma of not being able to host our traditional overnight week-long camps, Camp Fantastic and BRASS Camp (for sibs). Summer Celebration Days allowed us to "take camp on the road" to our four primary service areas with a series of 6 events. Campers could bring the entire family for zip lining, crafts, recreational activities, and lots of informal conversations.
Why You Should Vote for Me: Camp is about community and when your community can't safely be together for an overnight experience, you go to them! We were able to reach parents in our furthest-reaching areas, many of whom had only been to a virtual experience, to introduce them to the magic of camp and the soul (and sanity) saving benefits of community.
