Entry Background/Description: During September, we pushed a campaign for Childhood Cancer Awareness Month on our social media to raise awareness of childhood cancer and Smile-A-Mile’s mission to provide hope, healing of the spirit, and love for our families during their childhood cancer journey. Each day in September we posted either a quote from one of our kids or parents in which they explained what SAM meant to them, a childhood cancer fact, or promoted our “We Fight With You” t-shirts. Our goal was to spread awareness and show our impact. It was important to us that people seeing our campaign would recognize the walk that our families endure during their pediatric cancer journey. While also emphasizing the relationships built through Smile-A-Mile’s activities.
Why You Should Vote for Me: In addition to providing hope for our families, it is our responsibility to provide information for the public about pediatric cancer. This social media campaign was able to educate others as well as creating a deeper understanding of the relationships built through our Smile-A-Mile activities and events.
