Entry Background/Description:
This year at Camp Hobe', our CIT director put together an amazing leadership activity for all the CITs that volunteered for our summer camp sessions. We have a special voluntary activity at camp, that we call Hobe' Forever; or our remembering program. It's a time and place where campers and staff remember those they have lost and plant a flower in their memory and allow their spirits to live on here at camp. This year our CITs decorated and painted a new bench to dedicate to our Hobe' Forever garden. There were many unique paintings with inspiring stories behind them.
Why You Should Vote for Me:
By painting the bench, it provided a space for the CITs to share their stories with their peers and allow them to bond with others who have shared similar experiences. Keeping the Hobe' spirit alive for all the past, present, and future
campers and volunteers proves that no matter what trials we go through and where life takes us, we are all forever a part of this camp family. It was a unifying experience for our upcoming leaders at camp. We hope to continue to add meaningful and memorable things to such an important part of our camp!
