Entry Background/Description: The first ever Camp Goodtimes at YMCA Camp Reed Egg Drop took place during Family Camp 2022. Participants of all ages were invited to the Arts & Crafts building to make a contraption out of a variety of supplies to protect their egg as it was dropped from the climbing tower, at a height of over 40 feet. Supplies used included plastic cups, tape, shaving cream, marshmallows, Life cereal, pipe cleaners, puff balls, plastic shopping bags, bits of cloth, pieces of string, moss, leaves, and twigs. Once the egg-protecting devices were completed, participants moved to the climbing tower and one by one placed them in a basket that was hauled up to the top of the climbing tower, received by trained staff. After a rousing chant for each participant of "EGG!, EGG!, EGG!, EGG!" The group signaled its readiness by counting down- "Three, Two, One, EGG!" and the contraption was released. After each egg drop, the contents were checked and outcomes were revealed and celebrated!
