  • What Should the Voters Know?: Camp Quality GKC enjoyed keeping the magic and power of camp alive through our “Thrive” Camp In for the week of summer camp 2021. We kept the holiday spirit alive and thriving with our annual Holiday Party as well, with a kookie twist!

Camper families received a post card invite in addition to an invite by email and social media encouraging them to throw on their best ugly sweater or favorite holiday gear to join in the Virtual Kookie Holiday Bash fun. Each camper family was mailed a box of homemade sweater shaped cookies with all the supplies needed to decorate them to their heart’s desire, thanks to a local baker; the Kookie Kit also included some CQ swag such as a tea towel and oven mitt to help them get around in the kitchen and to remind campers and families CQ is thinking of them throughout the year. Keeping true to our tradition of dining together for the holidays, a gift card for a nice family meal was also provided in addition to hot cocoa and candy canes.

Once we hopped online, we enjoyed introductions including favorite holiday traditions and showing off our holiday attire followed by a cookie decorating contest where everyone is a winner! We read an intentional holiday story, and of course ended with a holiday dance party! We invited some of our donors and supporters to participate as well, and several of our Chiefs Ambassador friends joined in the fun!

Families that were not able to attend live still enjoyed their kits and shared with us pictures and words of gratitude highlighting how good it feels to do something together, as mom Allison noted, “The kids enjoyed our time together decorating!”
