What Should the Voters Know?:
When COVID-19 was declared a pandemic, Camp Quality pivoted to deliver virtual Camp-at-Home. Camp-at-Home brings the magic of camp, the people, the programs, and the fun directly to our camp families in their homes. With this pivot, we also began to offer year-round virtual clubs.
While camp typically takes place during the summer, we wanted to help our campers stay connected year-round while social distancing measures were in place. Through our virtual clubs, campers have the opportunity to pursue special interests, such as tech, art and nature, all while staying connected to the Camp Quality community.
Camp-at-Home Virtual Clubs create a positive and fun online environment. Clubs emulate the joy that campers experience at camp and promote the same resilience and strength that is created at camp by encouraging children to continue to push outside their comfort zones.
The first season of Camp-at-Home Virtual clubs was overwhelmingly successful, and we heard from families that campers would like to continue connecting year-round and pursuing special interests.
Campers had the opportunity to participate in a variety of ways, weekly, bi-weekly or monthly! Each camper also received all the necessary supplies before their club and received a badge for their CQ lanyard and a postcard for attending (even if they only attended once!).
We are very grateful to our community partners who helped to make clubs possible! Including the following:
- A local inclusive Dance Company
- Our local conservation authority
- Local School Board Tech Program
- Local Author
- Art Therapist
We are so excited to keep this programs as part of our core programming going forward, eliminating barriers to participate in programs at Camp Quality.
