What Should the Voters Know?:
Camp Watcha Wanna Do - Every Which way in the USA - was both in-person and virtual for 2021. We ran virtual alongside in-person with two sessions per day; these consisted of live sessions to do activities or FB live during at camp things. We had camp in a box given to the virtual kids using the amazing duffle bags that our local Northwestern Mutual provided for us! Our favorite part about Virtual camp was probably the JackBox games with Ross!
Kinder camp, which is our one day camp for the kids under age 7, was also virtual but a super fun morning! We had a tour of camp, activities that were part of their camp in a box and time for questions about in-person camp.
And, while in-person camp was completely different than "normal" pre-COVID camp, it was so nice to see the kids smile and hear their laughter. We were able to do most of the activities that we normally do with some variations to them due to COVID. The counselors and kids adjusted to the differences pretty well and I think that overall we were all just really happy to be together in the same place again! We had so much fun going every which way in the USA and a really fun theme to weave in throughout the week. It was our 30th anniversary this year and quite the celebration after a year away from each other. We were blessed that everyone stayed healthy, there were few hiccups and all of the programs worked out despite Mother Nature being finicky.
We have learned alot between all virtual 2020 and hybrid 2021. We are looking forward to utilizing more virtual programs throughout the year to keep the kids connected and that has been a silver lining for us.
It is impossible to capture the full range of emotions of the week of camp but hopefully the pictures in the video can help to bring some of that emotion alive. There was so much to be remembered from this 2021 summer camp :)
