Entry Background/Description:
Our team put together a comprehensive social media campaign for Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. The campaign conveyed that although Sunrise doesn’t influence the medical side of childhood cancer, we do play a critical role in the lives of the families we work with. The campaign ran on the Sunrise Association social channels and through the social channels of our day camps. This submission will focus on Sunrise Day Camp–Long Island.
The posts consisted of Then/Now photos of campers and counselors, statistics about Sunrise Day Camps - highlighting our growth and impact, and quotes from families and medical directors on the impact Sunrise Day Camps play in their lives.
The campaign was run on Facebook and Instagram. Sunrise Day Camp-Long Island had a total of 36 posts with total impressions being 21,841, 3,557 total engagements (which is 43% Y/Y growth), and a total of 2,330 reactions on both platforms. These numbers are reflective of the results we received across all camps. - Why You Should Vote for Me: Our Childhood Cancer Awareness Month social campaign was the first of many social campaigns highlighting a new social media strategy for Sunrise Association which focuses on storytelling and engagement. As shown by the results, this campaign was a huge success in illustrating our mission to our followers in a fun and engaging way. We are excited to build on the success of this campaign in our future social media efforts.
