Entry Background/Description:
SunriseWALKS began in 2006 at our flagship camp in Long Island, NY. This exciting grassroots fundraiser brings families together to enjoy a walk-a-thon filled with live music, pre-walk activities and a finish line celebration.
So far this year, we have held four WALKS - in Atlanta, GA, Washington, DC, Long Island, NY and Staten Island, NY. These event were attended by a total of approximately 2,500 people. We have three additional WALKS being held during the month of October - in Baltimore, MD, Pearl River, NY and Chicago, IL - and expect another 1,300 attendees. To date, our 2022 WALKS season has raised $1.4 million and expects to see at least $1.85 million dollars raised for our camps this year! -
Why You Should Vote for Me:
SunriseWALKS is a wonderful opportunity for our community to really come together. Our campers and supporters walk side-by-side and celebrate the magic of our camps. We see continued attendance by our WALKS participants year after year, and the individuals and teams take great pride in their fundraising. This event is an incredible show of what Sunrise Association Day Camps mean to our "Sunrise Family".
