Entry Background/Description:
We had an amazing first year at our brand new Ta-Kum-Ta Softballathon on September 24th! This was not your average softball tournament. It was an all day softball extravaganza with infinite innings, and free family fun, all to support local families impacted by childhood cancer.
The main event was one day-long softball game at Vermont's minor league baseball team's historic Centennial Field where community teams could play for an hour shift or more on the side of their choice! We brought in some TKT fun pulled straight from our programs by making each team represent an activity at Camp (Waterfront or Ropes). Those two are always blamed for pranks at Camp and we wanted to settle the age old debate about who was responsible for this year's shenanigans! Ropes took the blame this year, but we can't wait to see how it goes next year!
We also had fun for the whole family! It was an awesome day at the ballpark including, touch-a-truck, face painting, lawn games, bouncy house and more! -
