  • Entry Background/Description: This year's silent dance party was an incredibly positive alternative to our traditional formal, during Summer Camp. This activity was not only different from what we've done in past years in terms of being less fancy it was far more inclusive. With COVID protocols this was held outside in our Cabin Village - Under the Stars. We carried our weeklong theme of outer space into this activity from costuming to props - which made for some incredible fun! When in your own pod you did not need to mask but when all together, we masked and enjoyed many of the traditional group dances that are loved! Some cabin groups chose to dress more formally while others came as they were. For those campers who are not necessarily into the dancing the night away, there were lawn games set up to enjoy! Three very different music playlists were available to choose from on the headsets as well as volume control so participants could choose what they most enjoyed and at what decibel. This was a highlight!
  • Why You Should Vote for Me: One of the positive aspects of reimagining things for our first in-person summer camp since 2019 was to think creatively and re-examine what's most important - CONNECTION. That said, still offering campers the opportunity to enjoy a camp-wide dance with their friends - which has been a long-standing tradition - was especially important. This year's dance offered more choices and was more inclusive. Campers had an incredibly fun time over the course of the evening! Just look at all those smiles and the interactions!
