- Entry Background/Description: Every year we hold a “Board Day” at camp, where we ask our Board of Directors and Junior Board to experience a day at camp! Hosting our boards allows them an opportunity to see why their leadership is crucial to the organization. While Tie Dye T-shirts are always a camp activity staple, we decided to mix it up this year! We used duct tape, towels, and spray tie dye to create tie dye towels. The campers created their own design on their towel. Some campers did their initials, some wrote their name, some drew the logo to their favorite fast food chain, but one of our campers designed a towel that touched our hearts. As shown in one of the pictures, he wrote the words, “This is Everyone’s Place”. Truer words have never been said. Camp really is everyone’s place. No matter what they have walked through, camp will always be there to accept them completely. The overall feedback from our board members was that the day touched them more than they ever imagined it would.
- Why You Should Vote for Me: We love taking a camp favorite activity and adding a new ‘SAM twist’ to them! The kids thoroughly enjoyed not only tie dying towels, but adding a meaningful touch to them. It made it even more special for our board members, who are a big part of making camp happen, to be a part of this activity and getting to know our kids.
