- Entry Background/Description: We all know that giving back help improve our mood, gives us a sense of purpose and helps appreciate those who have given to us. Because we appreciate all those who serve us and our campers, we wanted to find a special service project that our campers could do so they could find a way to give back too! We partnered with another local non-profit from Utah called "Tiny Tim's Foundation for Kids" and built wooden toy cars that are given to children all around the world. We were able to have our campers ages 7-19 years old ALL participate in this project!
- Why You Should Vote for Me: You should vote for this unique activity because of the purpose and connectivity it brought to camp. We knew that the campers would enjoy a different type activity, but what we didn't expect is that it would become a favorite memory and a catalyst to sharing and appreciating moments of when others gave service to each of us. Campers shared sweet stories and one child even said they "felt like one of Santa's elves at his workshop making toys for kids to be happy"! We noticed a difference it made for all ages of campers and including staff. Everyone was engaged and excited. Everyone had a story to share. Everyone who helped felt more joy and accomplishment when the activity was over. Everyone also asked if we could do more cars next year! When a few staff members delivered the finished cars to the foundation after camp, they were overjoyed with our experience and we look forward to working with them again in the future.
